Message From Bruce Springsteen
Some notes on the beginnings of Working on a Dream. During the last weeks of mixing Magic, we recorded a song called “What Love Can Do.” It was sort of a “love in the time of Bush” meditation. It was a great track but felt more like a first song of new record rather than something that would fit on Magic. So our producer Brendan O’Brien said, “Hey, let’s make another one right now!” I thought, no, I haven’t done that since my first two records came out in the same year. And usually I don’t write that quickly. But that night I went back to my hotel in Atlanta and over the next week, I wrote several songs (”This Life,” “My Lucky Day,” “Life Itself,” along with “Good Eye” and “Tomorrow Never Knows”) that formed the beginnings of our new album. Excited by the sounds we made on Magic I found there was more than enough fuel for the fire to keep going. Brendan and I demo’d these songs before we left the studio and agreed we’d somehow find time during the touring year to get this record made.
Over the past 10 years with Brendan, our ability to get records done and to work on a variety of projects at the same time (Yes, we can multi-task!) has allowed us to get a steadier stream of our best music out to our fans. This is something I’ve always wanted to do. We found time to book sessions, get the band while it was hot off the road, write and record a new record, while giving our audience what I hope was some of the best E Street shows we’ve ever done. We’re excited about you hearing this music and I just wanted to drop a line about how it all started. Have a great holiday and we’ll see you in the New Year!

Sembra ormai certo, anche per scarsità di tempo e feste varie ed eventuali, che il leg europeo del tour Working on a dream sarà estivo.
Ovviamente niente è ancora sicuro, anzi.
Cosa positiva è che Nils per l' estate avrà recuperato completamente dopo l' operazione del mese scorso come si può leggere sul suo blog:

Hello everyone, hope you're all in good health and spirits. I've completed lesson 7 for the Beginner's Guitar School. We hope to have it on line this week sometime. Thanks for the continued feedback on the guitar lessons. It's very helpful and I welcome it. Still doing physical therapy for my two new hips. It's a new adventure in discipline and patience. My goal is still to be in performing shape to start doing shows this spring. Obviously if E St. tours I'll be there. Otherwise, we'll start planning the acoustic shows. Please take care of yourselves this crazy holiday season. Amy and I send our prayers and best wishes to all.

-B&P: Blank & Postage. Semplificando: a te interessa un concerto della mia collezione, se ci accordiamo per un B&P tu devi mandarmi una busta pre-affrancata con il tuo indirizzo e dei CD vergini, io ti masterizzo il bootleg di Springsteen di tuo interesse e ti rispedisco il tutto.
-UBER: serie di bootleg generalmente di ottima qualità che fino a poco fa circolavamo solo fra pochi top traders. Qui trovate la lista completa.
La pubblica diffusione è nata per iniziativa di TattoDad del forum Stone Pony London, e la lista è in continuo ampliamento.

Springsteen a San Siro, avviso di garanzia
Ventidue minuti di bis: disturbo della quiete pubblica. Sotto accusa anche i concerti di Lenny Kravitz e Subsonica
MILANO - Ventidue minuti di sforamento. Ventidue minuti di bis con una versione trascinante di Twist and Shout e American Land. Avviso di garanzia per il promoter di Bruce Springsteen, Claudio Trotta, titolare della Barley Arts: disturbo della quiete pubblica e mancata osservanza dei provvedimenti dell'autorità. Tutta colpa di quel «cattivone» del Boss che il 25 giugno, con un Meazza stracolmo di fan, ha avuto l'improvvida idea di regalare al suo pubblico due emozionanti bis, sforando così i tempi previsti dai regolamenti dei concerti e di conseguenza superando i decibel imposti per quel-l'ora: le 23.30.
Succede anche questo nell'internazionalissima Milano. Tutto nasce dall'esposto di 46 residenti di San Siro contro i concerti al Meazza. Esposto integrato dai dati dell'Arpa. Quella sera, Springsteen rispettò al millimetro i decibel imposti dal Comune fino alle 23.30, ma andò oltre i tempi consentiti. Da qui l'avviso di garanzia firmato dai procuratori Nicola Cerrato e Giulio Benedetti nei riguardi del promoter, che rischia o l'arresto fino a tre mesi o — ed è questa la previsione più veritiera — un'oblazione.

MILANO - Ventidue minuti di sforamento. Ventidue minuti di bis con una versione trascinante di Twist and Shout e American Land. Avviso di garanzia per il promoter di Bruce Springsteen, Claudio Trotta, titolare della Barley Arts: disturbo della quiete pubblica e mancata osservanza dei provvedimenti dell'autorità. Tutta colpa di quel «cattivone» del Boss che il 25 giugno, con un Meazza stracolmo di fan, ha avuto l'improvvida idea di regalare al suo pubblico due emozionanti bis, sforando così i tempi previsti dai regolamenti dei concerti e di conseguenza superando i decibel imposti per quel-l'ora: le 23.30.
Succede anche questo nell'internazionalissima Milano. Tutto nasce dall'esposto di 46 residenti di San Siro contro i concerti al Meazza. Esposto integrato dai dati dell'Arpa. Quella sera, Springsteen rispettò al millimetro i decibel imposti dal Comune fino alle 23.30, ma andò oltre i tempi consentiti. Da qui l'avviso di garanzia firmato dai procuratori Nicola Cerrato e Giulio Benedetti nei riguardi del promoter, che rischia o l'arresto fino a tre mesi o — ed è questa la previsione più veritiera — un'oblazione.

Uno dei più famosi concerti (bootleg) di Springsteen e della E-Street band. Si trovano diverse registrazioni di quella serata di 30 anni fa: Live at Winterland, Winterland Night della Crystal Cat e Live in the Promised Land della Great Dane Records per dirne alcune oltre che ovviamente Walking in a Springsteen Wonderland (HOJO production).
Il concerto era stato trasmesso per radio, per questo la qualità era già molto buona in partenza però dopo la rimasterizzazione da parte della HOJO production è assolutamente fantastica, uno dei bootleg da avere assolutamente.

SPRINGSTEEN TOUR EUROPEO 2009, CANCELLATO?
Il tour europeo per Working on a dream , originariamente previsto per febbraio marzo, sembra esser stato cancellato o perlomeno spostato a maggio giugno.
Staremo a vedere, forse è la volta buona che riusciamo ad ascoltar il disco prima di comprare i biglietti per i concerti.
